A Family Business founded in 2010
We, Peter & Wendy Aldiss are a multigenerational Marlow family having first settled in Marlow over thirty years ago. After various local moves and businesses, we finally settled at Monkton Barn in 2003.
Finding Monkton Barn – When we found Monkton Barn in November 2003, we were captivated and excited by the approach. Turning off the beaten track into Monkton Lane, with a tunnel of overhanging trees, we wondered what we would find. Hopefully potential clients visiting for the first time have the same feeling of adventure.
Amongst our foodie adventures was a memorable private dinner party held in 2010, at the Bull & Butcher Pub in Turville, where by coincidence James Knight, now our executive chef, was busy earning Michelin awards.
Little did we know in 2007 when we volunteered to host the parents summer fundraiser ball for our children’s primary school, that we would find ourselves in the hospitality business.
